Red Lodge Wedding Video

Few places are as beautiful as Red Lodge, Montana. The wedding video team at Bonafide Film House was lucky enough to film a wedding at the stunning Quaking Aspen Ranch in that area in the middle of summer and the views were stunning.

Athena and Jarret contacted us in the spring of 2017. They were planning there wedding from afar and were trying to find the best vendors possible. Athena was so excited to be getting married at Quaking Aspen Ranch. Quaking Aspen Ranch is a huge venue that offers something for everyone. a beautiful stream runs right through the property allowing for waterfront services with a beautiful aspen groveling its shores. Being the first time we had ever worked the venue we took extra care to bring everything we might need for the area.

When we have never worked a venue before we like to scout out the location in advance. If this is not possible we always arrive early and do a quick walk through taking note of our client’s decorations as well as all the special nuances that come with a new venue. Quaking Aspen Ranch had plenty of these to offer. The venue is run by the Powers family a lovely couple and there hardworking 7 kids. The Powers family gives the whole venue a special something, they will lead guests on a whole range of adventures from trail riding and swimming to target shooting. We were lucky enough to spend a leisurely morning with Jarret and Athena’s friends and family capturing them as they enjoyed the different amenities the venue has to offer.

Once we had a firm understanding of the venue the Bonafide Wedding video team got down to work. One of our shooters focused on getting the bride’s prep shots such as hair and makeup. Our other shooter set up some time-lapses and got some establishing shots with our drone. With the Quaking Aspen Ranch’s proximity to Red Lodge Montana, we were able to get some fabulous aerial shots of the venue and surrounding area.

One of the great things about working at Quaking Aspen Ranch is that everyone had already been at the venue for most of the week so everyone was super comfortable and relaxed. This showed in the fun and exciting footage we were able to capture of the guest and the bride and groom enjoying the venue.

The ceremony site that Jarret and Athena picked at Quaking Aspen ranch was one of a kind. We used three cameras and multiple sources of audio to ensure we were able to deliver a perfect ceremony. Jarret and his groomsmen walked down the Aisle dressed as 1800’s gentlemen in fine purple paisley suits. The ceremony site was on the banks of the creek with a stunning arbor and a beautiful Aspen grove stretching out behind it. As Athen walked down the aisle and the crowd stood you could see how excited Jarret was. The beautiful ceremony accompanied by local red lodge musicians. The crowd was ecstatic as the newlywed bride and groom walked back down the aisle.

Once the ceremony was over the party really began. The Quaking Aspen Ranch staff prepared a stunning meal and served it buffet style to the large wedding party. Jarret and Athena opted to go for something different with desert with a pie bar from a local Red Lodge bakery.

As the sun began to set we took the bride and groom away to get some sunset shots while the dancing began to take off in the barn. There is a stunning bridge on the property that is strung up with light that makes a perfect spot to take sunset video. As the night wound down we set up our video booth so that  Athena and Jarret’s guest could leave them messages. The bride and Groom could not have asked for a  more perfect summers evening.

Helena Wedding Video

View Our Wedding Packages

Helena is a special place in Montana. It is full of history and is our state capital it also has a lot of stunning wedding venues which means we shoot a lot of wedding videos in the area. When Deven and Ryan called us up asking us to make them a wedding video we were excited to oblige. They got married at Staubach Ranch and it made for an absolutely stunning Helena wedding video.

Our day started early with our team arriving at the salon on Last Chance Gulch right in the heart of downtown Helena. As soon as we entered the room we knew this wedding video was going to be something great. Deven and her bridesmaids where having so much fun and where so excited to be there. We spent a couple hours capturing hair and makeup shots with Deven and the bridesmaids before heading to Staubach Ranch just 15 minutes outside of Helena Montana.

As we pulled up to the huge barn that is the showcase of Staubach Ranch the whole area was busy with last minute preparations. The ground floor of the barn was converted to a museum dedicated to the Bride and Groom with hundreds of pictures showing there lives as children ad as a young couple strung across stalls with Christmas lights. The center aisle of the barn was dedicated to a huge buffet that ran the length of the first room.

After introducing ourselves to the other vendors the Wedding video team at Bonafide Film House went to work. One of use went to find the bride in a beautiful little cabin where she was putting on the final touches before getting into her wedding dress. The other shooter went to get stunning time-lapses and cutaway of the surrounding area and venue these shots are important to set the tone of the wedding in the wedding video as well as give any family who couldn’t make it to the wedding a good idea of the area.

Once Deven had her dress on the pictures started in earnest. The beauty of Staubach Ranch and the surrounding Helena area is the history. all over the venue where old buildings and barns weathered and rustic with that perfect Montana charm. We were able to get some stunning shots with both Deven and Ryan against some of these ancient barns and fences really adding to the country charm that is expressed across the whole wedding video.

Once Ryan and his groomsmen were prepared we were ready for the first look. Another stunning aspect of the Staubach ranch venue and plot of wedding venues around Helena is the huge aspen groves. As you can see in the wedding video above a aspen groves make for fantastic first look spaces. They tend to be bright and airy while feeling secluded and intimate which is the perfect recipe for a first look in a Helena wedding video or any wedding video for that matter. When Ryan tuned around to see Deven for the first time he was practically speechless. Whenever we film a first look we use two cameras and both of our shooters. When we edit these Helena wedding videos having two videographers allows us to capture more creative shots. Like in this Helena wedding video where we were able to get reveal shots from behind trees while the other shooter maintained the general shot.

Once the first look was over we where able to get some shots of the couple alone which is important to a good wedding video. bride and groom solo shots really help express the intimacy and love a couple has for each other. We got these shots in the aspen grove and in the huge open field on the property. We always make sure to get a mixture of wide and tight shots to ensure the scope of the area is represented while also being able to appear close and personal.

Once these shots where done we moved to the ceremony area to coordinate with the photographer. Its always important to set up a game plan with the other vendors. Our end goal is to produce the best Helena wedding video possible and we want the photographers to produce the best photos possible. So before each ceremony we look over the ceremony area with the photographer and plan our camera placements and where we will operate to make sure we are not in our brides photos and the photographer is not in the Wedding video. This ceremony went off without a hitch we had fantastic camera placement and audio ensuring the coverage was super solid. As Ryan walked down the aisle you could see his excitement and when Deven followed you could tell he was speechless all over again. The Maid of Honor played a fantastic song on her acoustic guitar and as the ceremony came to an end the couple walked down the aisle hand in hand to the cheering of there friends and family.

The evening festivities began with a grand entrance and ended with everyone at the wedding on the dance floor. Somewhere in-between we had a fantastic sparkler sendoff which is always a favorite of the wedding video team here at Bonafide Film House. We also managed to steal the bride and groom away for 15 minutes of sunset shots where we captured the two in a stunning sunset lit field with a golden glow across the tops of the grass.

Chico Hot Springs Wedding Video

Chico Hot Springs Wedding

There are few places as Montanan as Chico Hot Springs and there are few things we love more then making wedding videos at Chico Hot Springs. When Darren got in touch about his Labor day wedding at Chico Hot Springs we knew we had to do it. The venue is nestled in the foothills of the Absarokee mountain range at the foot of mount baldy in Paradise Valley about 20 miles south of Livingston, MT. This one of a kind location lends itself to making truly amazing wedding videos.

When the team here at Bonafide Film House prepares for a Chico Hot Springs wedding video there are a few things we have to consider. It is important to bring rain protection for our shooters and our cameras. No matter what the weather forecast says storms can roll through the valley at a moments notice but they always pass very quickly. We always like to bring few extra cameras to ensure we can get a stunning time-lapses in every direction and a pair of very comfortable shoes as we tend to do a lot of walking.

When we first arrived at Chico Hot Springs on the day of Darren and Colleens wedding we where stunned by the beauty of the storm systems passing through Paradise Valley. The clouds made for a very dramatic scene which lended itself perfectly to Darren and Colleens style. As soon as we got up to the cabin one of our shooters went with Colleen to film hair and makeup. Our other videographer set up some time-lapses and flew the drone before heading over to film Darren getting ready.

After we finished all the prep shots we got together with the photographer to plan how we were going to approach the ceremony. It is always important to plan out the ceremony with the photographer so that everyone avoids getting in each others shot. This ceremony was going to be something little different Colleen was going to be driven up to the ceremony site in Darrens vintage chevy pick up by her dad. Darren and Colleens friends and family stood for Collen as she exited the truck in here stunning dress and custom pink chucks with the breathtaking view behind her. You could see Darren’s reaction as Colleen walked down the aisle to him. The whole ceremony went flawlessly and the two where married to a cheering crowd as they left in the truck.

Once everyone made their way down to the main hall for cocktail hour Darren and Colleen joined us and the photographer for some bride and groom shot with the sun setting against the mountains as a backdrop. While we all set up at the field of dreams in Chico hot springs one of our shooters flew the drone to capture amazing shots of Darren and Colleen against the mountains. Darren and Colleen practiced there choreographed dance while we filmed them with Chico Hot Springs in the background.

The rest of the evening went perfectly with the couple joining their friends and family in the main hall for a fantastic dinner prepared by the Chico Hot Springs staff. Everyone enjoyed some heartfelt speeches and danced the night away.

Whitefish Wedding Video

WHITEFISH WEDDING VIDEO

We always get excited when we are invited to make our wedding videos in Whitefish Montana. The area is stunning with beautiful lakes, thick green forests, and its proximity to Glacier National Park. So when Erin and Brandon called us asking to make them a wedding video at the Lodge at Whitefish Lake we jumped at the chance.

Erin and Brandon planned their special day to the last detail and not was a joy to capture it on video. Based in Bozeman the Bonafide Film House wedding videography team drove up the night before and stayed locally to ensure that there was no hiccups on the drive over and that we could arrive early to capture bridal preparations and the ceremony and reception set up. Being the first time we had worked at the Lodge at Whitefish Lake we showed up early to scout out the venue and introduce ourselves to the other vendor staff.

Once we were comfortable with the venue and had said hello to Erin our team split into two with one of us focusing on capturing Erin getting her makeup and hair done and the other focusing on Brandon getting ready while capturing roll and cutaway of the stunning Whitefish Lake.

We had the joy of working closely with Jeremiah and Rachel from Jeremiah and Rachel photography they are a very talented team of photographers based in Whitefish Montana. We were able to work together to maximize our time with the bride and groom while still allowing Erin and Brandon plenty of time to enjoy their wedding and guests.

Once preparations where finished Erin put on a stunning wedding dress that looked like it was made just for her and everyone moved on to the site where we had planned to do the first look. The Lodge at Whitefish Lake is a stunning venue and our previous scouting had revealed a beautiful intimate spot next to a walking trail in the back of the hotel. This is where the first look was held and both Brandon and Erin were blown away by each other and where so excited to be getting married. After the first look, the photography team and one of our shooters went with the couple to film and photograph family portraits and bridal party shots while the other went to get more b-roll of the venue and shots of the reception are being set up meticulously by the team at The Lodge at Whitefish Lake.

We find when we are crafting wedding videos it is important to have a lot of solid cutaway of not only the vast beauty of Montana and the one of a kind venues we have here but the little details our brides spend so much time working on during the planning process. When we have a lot of good shots to couple with personal moments we get from the bride and groom as well as their friends and family we know we are going to end up with a spectacular video.

As the day progressed it was time to film the ceremony. When we film a ceremony we always plan each camera location very carefully making sure not to obstruct any guests views while maximizing our angles to make sure we end up with a clean ceremony video from start to finish. One thing that is often overlooked but our Wedding videography team focuses on specifically is Audio. We make sure to have multiple redundant sources of audio capture to ensure we have capture every vow, statement, and speech. The ceremony is usually when weddings have the most emotion everything is finally coming together and these two special people are becoming one while surrounded by the love of their friends and family. That day on the Shores of Whitefish lake it was no different. As Erin walked down the aisle you could see Brandon’s breath being taken away. Every ceremony is a little different with special flair added by each couple, in this case, they decided to plant a tree together to represent the growing of their life together and the start of their new family. As the couple walked down the aisle hand and hand it was obvious the two are meant to be together and by the sounds of cheering that accompanied them, it seemed their friends and family could not agree more.

One special thing about weddings at the Lodge at Whitefish Lake is the post-ceremony boat ride. The bride and groom get to take a 30 minute boat ride across Whitefish Lake and they can go alone or take their wedding party. One of our shooters got to tag along on this boat ride to capture the fun and intimate moments the couple had on the boat while celebrating with their bridal party. The other shooter broke out the drone to get stunning aerial shots of the boat sailing across Whitefish Lake.

As the evening began so did the party. Everyone ate fantastic food prepared by the Lodge at Whitefish Lake staff and amazing cake prepared by one of Brandon’s family members. Once the Dancing started everyone was glued to the dance floor. We made sure to steal the couple away for a few minutes to get some stunning shots of the sun setting over Whitefish Lake.

Filming A Wedding at The Baxter Hotel in Bozeman Montana

View Our Wedding Packages

The Baxter Hotel has been a focal point of Downtown Bozeman Montana since 1929. One of the best parts about The Baxter is that it makes a truly unique wedding venue. There is nothing like it in Montana. So when we were asked to film a wedding at The Baxter we were super excited.

Sarah and Errol got in touch with us early in the season planning there Montana destination wedding for mid-August at The Baxter Hotel and were looking for a videography team that could be flexible and professional. Sarah knew what she wanted and it just so happened that the Bonafide Film House wedding video team was a perfect fit.

Sarah and Errol were bringing in friends and family from across the world and it was very important to them that there was a huge celebration on rehearsal day so that everyone had a chance to relax and get to know each other before the big day. They hired our wedding video team to film the rehearsal night as well as the wedding day.

When we film a rehearsal day there are a few important things we look for. Are there going to be speeches? Is there any special gift giving? Will there actually be a rehearsal or will it just be a welcoming celebration? All these things dictate how we will cover the day. When someone hires us for the rehearsal day we provide two shooters for four hours. This allows us to get complete coverage of the evening.

Sarah and Errol picked a beautiful rental house in the Bridger mountains which provided stunning 360-degree views from at close to peak levels. We arrived a few hours before the dinner was to take place and were able to shoot a few time-lapses and get some aerials of the area. All of the guests were super comfortable being on camera and seemed excited about the events of the next day at The Baxter Hotel. Sarah had planned everything to the last flower with beautiful place settings and customized favors for each guest handmade by her. Sarah’s sister a trained chef out of Portland made a delicious dinner for everyone. As the sun started to set gifts where shared out among all the guests and many of the bridal party gave speeches. We were able to capture it all an incorporate it into the main wedding video that took place at The Baxter in Bozeman.

On the wedding day, our team arrived early to introduce ourselves to The Baxter’s staff and all of the other wedding vendors. One of our shooters joined Sarah a few blocks down from The Baxter on the main street in Bozeman at a salon to get hair and makeup prep shots. Our other shooter focused on getting some absolutely stunning ariels of the Baxter as well as a lot of cutaway and B-roll of the historic Hotel.

Once hair and makeup were complete we focused on coordinating the ceremony. We worked closely with the photography team to ensure that the whole event went smoothly and no one was in anyone shots. The Baxter’s ballroom was set up with stunning silk drapes that let in a soft light that really made Sarah’s glass and gold decorations stand out. The aisle was lined with floating candles and the whole room was pure elegance. As their ceremony started you could feel the love and happiness coming off the crowd for this couple. Errol waited at the altar as Sarah walked down the aisle in her stunning dress. As the couple completed there vows and were announced as husband and wife the adorable son ran to give them both a hug.

Shortly after the ceremony the photographers and our Bozeman wedding video team left The Baxter and crossed main street Bozeman to do bridal shots at the Emerson cultural center. We were able to capture some stunning shots against the brick and stone backdrop of the cultural center after bridal pictures were done and with sunset quickly approaching we took Errol and Sarah to the roof of The Baxter hotel to get someone of a kind aerial shots of them against the Bozeman skyline at sunset with the huge Baxter Hotel sign in the background.

As the night progressed all the guest had a fantastic evening of food and dancing. The Baxter was a one of a kind venue to shoot from its stunning mezzanine and lobby to its grand ballroom the elegance and history fit perfectly with our couples special day and we were lucky enough to be there to capture it.

Filming a Livingston Montana Wedding Video

View Our Wedding Packages

If there is one thing we absolutely love at Bonafide Film House, it is young couples that couldn’t be more in love. On the first of July, the wedding videography team at Bonafide Film House was lucky enough to film one of these beautiful couples.
Taking place in beautiful Paradise Valley, near Livingston Montana and just north of Yellowstone, the couple had rented out a beautiful ranch to spend their wedding day  leading up to the wedding. Stunning 360-degree views and a quirky artistic nature made this ranch a perfect fit for our couple. An early first look left our couple plenty of time to enjoy the day surrounded by their closest friends without the pressure of a strict schedule. Our team of wedding videographers were able to spend valuable one on one time with the couple ensuring there wedding video was perfect.
As the passionate Livingston wedding video creators, we are, we were so excited to create a beautiful wedding video against the stunning backdrop of the Paradise Valley. The day morning went beautifully and their video turned out fantastic. As the day turned towards early afternoon the wedding party and the bride and groom to be made their way to the beautiful and secluded Luccock Park where the rest of there friends and family were waiting. As the wedding ceremony began the team had a hard time holding back tears as Alyssa walked down the aisle, at the base of the Livingston Montana mountains. When the bride and groom kissed, the crowd erupted in applause.
The team of Montana videographers covered the rest of the day flawlessly, creating a very beautiful video in the end, that the bride and all of her friends absolutely loved.
